The history of EardrumsPop

The label started in 2008 as a part of the Eardrums music blog, with Knut as the only “employee”. He contacted several bands and some of his favourite illustrators, and the result was “Summer’s here!”, a two-volume summer compilation, released  in June 2008.  “A Good Crop”, an autumn compilation in 4 volumes were released in September 2008.
In the spring of 2009, EardrumsPop released “Birdsongs, Beesongs”, – 4 volumes of springtime-pop, – with mostly exclusive songs.

In 2010, 3 new members were added to the team, – Stefan from Germany, Leena from Finland/Norway and Tim from USA/Ireland. Together they made the collaboration compilation “Between Two Waves”, with exclusive music created especially for this compilation, and where ALL songs were made as collaborations between bands. The booklet, made by the German illustrator Julia Pax, also included poems and cartoons with collaboration as a theme.

The compilations have been featured in a huge number of blogs and websites, on podcasts and radio (both local and national).

The EardrumsPop compilations are all free to download, and they are only available as digital downloads. No cd’s will be printed for these, and no money will be involved for any parts of the project. All songs have been approved by the artists or the labels.
