Some news for December from EardrumsPop:

On December 10, we will present two singles for you, and these show two very different sides of our label
. December is also the time for gifts and surprises, and if you read on, you will find out what our December 20-surprise is
.

The first single on December 10th is from Norwegian power-pop’ers Kookooo Kitchen, with razor sharp guitars and “in-your-face”-vocals. Their songs are sometimes nice and harmonic, the next second as rough and edgy as it can get

Here is a taster from a demo the band made last year (this song will not be on our single):

The second single on December 10th is from Alison Eales, the keyboard player in Butcher Boy, who will release her debut solo single on EardrumsPop. 3 lovely songs, recorded in a small cupboard, with a cotton bag over her head
. Alison uses few instruments when she records her songs, – her keyboard, an ukulele, her vocals, glockenspiel and rarely more. The result is calm, fragile and stunningly beautiful popsongs.
The single also sees the return of cover-designer Helena Garcia, who made the cover for our first ever EardrumsPop-release, “Summer’s here!”.
Here’s a song from one of Alison’s previous projects, All My Friends:

So, let’s talk about our surprise…

We have Christmas presents for you! Released on December 20!

The first present comes from Oláfachada. That’s the collaboration project by Ola Innset from the Norwegian indiepop-band My Little Pony (myspace.com/mylittleponyoslo) and the Portuguese artist b Fachada (myspace.com/bfachada)

.

The project has existed since our “Between Two Waves” compilation and is still ongoing. Thanks to that happy fact, we can offer you another great song by them! It is called “Tall With Hard Long Eyes”.

Our second gift comes from England to you. Just two months after the release of their “Dark Days & Nights” album and their EP “Bats” here on EardrumsPop, Insect Guide return with a brand new EP,  the “5 O’Clock Recordings”
.

The new tracks showcase Insect Guide’s darkly atmospheric songwriting in a mostly acoustic form, stripping back the densely layered sonics of previous releases.  4 wonderful songs for you to get over the cold and dark months.

You can get both releases for free on EardrumsPop.com at 5am GMT on Monday December 20th!

Happy December from the EardrumsPop family! 🙂
